Job Requirements

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

  1. Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been in the grade of Senior ICT Officer or in a comparable position;
  2. Diploma in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Communications Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Software Engineering, Business Information Technology, Data Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Cyber Security or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  3. Professional Certificates in any of the following:-Database Management (Oracle, SQL, DB2 or its equivalent), Information Security (CISSP, Security+, CISA, CISM or its equivalent), Service Support Operations (ITIL, COBIT or its equivalent), Network Administration (CCNA,HCNA, N+, HP or its equivalent), System Administration (MCSE, Linux, Unix or its equivalent), or Software Development (Java, Visual Studio, Python, Oracle, or its equivalent), Data Center and Cloud management (VMware, Certified Data Center Management Professional or its equivalent);
  4. Certificate in Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution; and
  5. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Job Description

Duties and responsibilities;

  1. Implementing ICT policies, strategies, regulations, standards and guidelines;
  2. Compiling operational reports pertaining to ICT matters for action;
  3. Assessing performance of ICT infrastructure, software applications and make recommendations;
  4. Coordinating establishment and monitoring of information and ICT Infrastructure security;
  5. Planning for maintenance of ICT infrastructure, equipment and software applications;
  6. Monitoring provision of end user support and capacity building;
  7. Carrying out business analysis and developing user requirements for ICT infrastructure, software, equipment and business solutions;
  8. Coordinating setting up, testing and administering of ICT systems, databases applications, networks and communication systems;
  9. Implementing Information security strategies within ICT systems and infrastructure.
  10. Ensuring proper internal controls for ICT assets and related processes to address associated risks;
  11. Implementing backup solutions and other business continuity strategies
  12. Making recommendations on reported ICT related issues and incidences;
  13. Assessing appropriateness of emerging technologies to the organization business operations and making recommendations; and
  14. Developing work plans and performance reporting.
